Las Vegas – Asa Newell scored 18 points to conduct Atlanta Hawks at a 98-80 victory against the Phoenix Suns in the NBA 2K26 Summer League on Sunday at the Pavilion.
Newell did most of his work in the second half, because he had only three points in 11 minutes of action after two quarters, when he finished the evening with a shooting of 7 for 9, including 4 for 5 of Deep, to go with a summit of 11 rebounds.
The Hawks had control at the start of the match, leading 30-17 after a quarter. The Suns were better in the second but could only reduce the deficit by one, because the Hawks held a 12 -point cushion at the break. The Suns maintained the pressure in the third and continued to cut the difference, making it a game of six points entering the final frame. Nevertheless, the Hawks took up command of the fourth by increasing the defense and limiting the Suns to only 14 points the rest of the path.
In addition to Newell, the Hawks made four other two -digit players mark, including Jacob Toppin, who had 15 points, eight rebounds and a flight, and Nikola đurišić, who accumulated 16 points, two rebounds, four assists, a flight and a block.
The Suns were led by Oso Ighodaro, which stuffed the statistics sheet with 18 points, nine rebounds, three assists, three interceptions and two blocks. Koby Brea followed with 15 points, six rebounds, two assists and a flight, while Yuri Collins collected 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, a flight and a block.
