Morgan Murphy, a former Tuberville assistant who worked at the White House until last week, will announce his candidacy for the Open Headquarters of the Alabama Senate during a event on the evening of September 22 in Birmingham, Alabama.

Captain of the American Navy reserve and former food criticism that worked in Southern Living and Forbes magazines before entering the national security space, Murphy is a first candidate. He reached notoriety in Washington for the engineering of the Tuberville grip on military promotions on objections to the abortion policy of the Ministry of Defense.

“I feel called to run because the first program of President Trump America is the first political movement of my life that made sense to me,” Murphy told USA Today. “And I want to see his approach to common sense to the government of the government, not only three and a half years while it is in power but far beyond.”

Alabama assessed “sure” for the Republicans

A handful of Republicans have already declared their candidacy for the headquarters of the Tuberville Senate, notably the former Navy Jared Hudson, the state prosecutor Steve Marshall and the American representative Barry Moore, another candidate aligned by Trump.

The winner of the GOP competition in Alabama should win the general elections. Alabama is generally considered to be a “safe” seat for Republicans.

Marshall had an early advance among the probable republican voters during an investigation at the end of August by the Alabama survey. He had 37% support for 16% of Moore and 7% of Hudson. Businessman Rodney Walker was 1% in the survey. Forty percent of those questioned said they were undecided.

Elections in the United States: Trump quotes the vote sent by La Poste of Colorado in the displacement of the military space in Alabama

His previous roles include the post of press secretary to the interim defense secretary, Christopher Miller, at the end of Trump’s first administration and working as a military assistant in Tuberville. Murphy was also a principal researcher at the America First Institute for the support of Trump alongside Keith Kellogg, the President’s special envoy to Ukraine.

He was also head of Kellogg public diplomacy at the White House and the State Department from late February to Friday.

Miller told USA Today during a phone call that Murphy had been responsible for managing his public affairs, but they were similar ages and quickly linked, Murphy became one of his most reliable advisers.

The Senate’s confirmation strategy on which Murphy worked in the Tuberville office was “extremely effective and very transformative”, while other policies he helped to develop has become a model on how Trump administration has sought to reduce the size of the government, said Miller.

Trump announced in early September that he planned to move the command of American space to Huntsville, in Alabama, giving Murphy an opening to campaign on the investments in the defense, noted Miller. “He’s a bit guy, he knows the business,” said Miller.

In a declaration on his candidacy, Murphy underlined his ties with Trump and Tuberville, which he resigned from the office of a profile which credited him to have orchestrated the military outlet.

“You’d better believe that President Trump and the Tuberville coach both demand excellence at all levels,” Murphy told USA Today. “I am proud to have worked for the two men and I will be responsible for continuing their fight in the American Senate for the years to come.”

Kellogg said Murphy had done a good job as a spokesperson and described it as “very, very stable” and “very deliberate on what he does”. He said Murphy had his “full support” in the Senate race.

The White House did not respond to a request.

Murphy said he had spoken to Tuberville and informed the White House of his offer but had not spoken directly to the president.

“The president likes to support the winners, and I want to go out on the campaign track and prove that I have support before asking him for his support,” said Murphy.

He said that he also hoped to get Tuberville’s support in primary school, but does not go into the race while waiting to automatically receive one or the other of the old bosses.

Trump has a complex history with Alabama Senate approvals

Trump easily won the Alabama with more than 60% of the votes in the last three elections. But with regard to its Senate mentions, the state was a source of stomach burns.

Former US prosecutor Jeff Sessions resigned from his headquarters in Alabama in 2017 to join the Trump administration. He was postponed from the role the following year after being assuming Trump about his management of the Russian collusion of the ministry.

The Alabama Attorney General at the time, Luther Strange was appointed to fill the vacancy and supported Trump during a special election to fulfill the rest of the sessions mandate. But he lost the primary of the GOP against Roy Moore, a former chief judge of the Supreme Court of Alabama whose campaign was hampered by allegations of sexual assault.

The Republicans kept their Moore distances until Trump approved it just before the elections. The tight competition made that former American lawyer Doug Jones became the first democrat to be elected in the Alabama Senate in 25 years.

When the headquarters were back on the ballot in 2020, Trump waited to approve Tuberville until the retired football coach finds himself in a runoff against the sessions.

In the other seat of the Alabama Senate, Trump approved and then supported the former representative Mo Brooks in the republican primary. He then supported the possible winner of the 2022 competition – Senator Katie Britt, a former aid to the Republican withdrawn from the siege, Richard Shelby.
