Natural natural baby powder

When I became a mom for the first time, I started to question the ingredients in everything I put on my baby. Unfortunately, there were no good answers to most of my questions. A product that I was surprised to find had problematic ingredients was baby powder.
The problem with baby powder …
Although it seems innocent, baby powder often has hidden ingredients. Until recently, companies like Johnson & Johnson have used Talcu Powder as the main ingredient in their baby powder. The problem is that the talc is usually contaminated by cancer causing asbestos. Now, 57,000 proceedings later, I recently exchanged the talc for corn starch in its baby powder without talc.
Even with new formulations, there are still problems for sensitive skin. There is the perfume that is linked to the concerns of allergens and endocrine disturbances. Or the benzyl salicylate which presents a high risk of allergies and immunotoxicity … but only if it is in the form of powder.
When I really had little ones, I wanted personal care products that were also sure for my baby’s skin. Fortunately, there are natural baby powders and baby products that are safe on the bottom of a baby.
Make your own homemade baby powder
I found some good alternatives purchased in stores, such as the biological eraorganics and the small baby powder. However, I wanted to find a good version of DIY. I suspected that if I could do it, I would save money and could personalize it.
Unlike certain body care recipes that require many attempts before finding a recipe that I like, it was relatively simple. Just a natural powder of a kind of optional herbs or essential oils.
Baby powder ingredients
I settled on the use of Arrow-Root powder or organic cornstarch as a base and added powdered herbs like chamomile and calendula to soothe endoloris stockings. Some recipes add a mixture of kaolin clay, baking soda or tapioca starch. I also experienced the addition of a few drops of chamomile essential oil and it worked very well too. The tea tree or lavender essential oil are good substitutes if you do not have chamomile.
I thought it was the easiest to use when I stored it in a powdered sugar shaker. I also carry home baby powder with a recipe card of how to do more when I give this as a baby gift.
If you worry about what comes into contact with your baby’s delicate skin, remember to make your own baby powder.
Homebly baby powder recipe
This simple recipe has soothing ingredients for the baby’s background. Great to reduce humidity of the skin for adults too!
Yield: 0.5 cup
-
If you use chamomile or calendula flowers, powder them in the mixer or the coffee mill (see note below for advice).
-
Mix the finely ground flowers or essential oil if you use, with the arrow powder and store in a glass jar, a spice jar or a sugar shaker for easy use.
You can add a few tablespoons of arrow powder to the coffee grinder with the flowers and essential oils. Mix them in this way to better incorporate the ingredients and avoid agglomerations. Just wait until the powder was deposited before opening the cover!
How to use baby powder
Baby powder is useful for more than simple babies! Women have used it for decades as part of their skin care routine. Body powder helps absorb excess sweat and humidity on the skin. It is also useful to keep the baby’s bottom dry to avoid rashes. And when you add soothing herbs, it can help the skin recover faster.
