Native of Syracuse named Emmy for the “adolescence” of Netflix

The 77th Emmy Awards Annual take place this evening, and a native of Syracuse is in place for one of the prestigious prices.

Carina Sposato, a graduate of the class of the 2008 school class from Manlius Pebble Hill, is nominated for her work on the successful series Netflix Limited, “adolescence”.

The show was nominated in the exceptional limited or anthological series category for 2025. Sosato was executive co-producer on the psychological drama of four episodes released in March. She shares this appointment with 13 other people on the production side, notably Emmy and the award-winning actor and producer Oscar, Brad Pitt and the British actor awarded Sag-Award, Stephen Graham, who also played in the series.

This is a first appointment to the Emmy of Eposato. Her mother, Joanna, who always lives in Syracuse, told Syracuse.com on Saturday how excited she is about the appointment of her daughter: “I’m just delighted for her. She is a hard worker and I am very, very proud.”

The series, which takes place in the West Yorkshire, in England, follows the arrest of a 13 -year -old boy, Jamie Miller (played by the teenage actor new coming Owen Cooper), accused of having murdered his classmate. The criminal drama was complimentary to its release. According to Tudum de Netflix, this is the second most watched show in the world, with more than 142.6 million views in its first 91 days on the platform.

In addition to “adolescence”, “Black Mirror”, “Dying for Sex”, “Monsters: The Erik and Lyle Menendez Story” and “The Penguin” were also nominated in the category of the limited series or exceptional anthology.

Esposato, who now lives in California, obtained his baccalaureate in cinematographic studies from the University of Yale before starting his career in the entertainment industry. She is currently head of television from department M, an independent production studio founded by Mike Larocca and Michael Schaefer. Previously, she had been a plan B Entertainment for over three years, where she worked on “adolescence”.

The 77th Emmy Awards are live this evening, on September 14, at 8 p.m. HE on CBS.
