Nasim belts nasm two first mlb circuits while nationals sweep the marlins

Nasim Nunez went 3-in-4 with four produced points, including his first two circuits of the major league, to help the Nationals in Washington to sweep the Miami Marlins visiting with a 10-5 victory on Wednesday.

Nunez, who hit a solo shot in the second, connected for a two-point circuit in the eighth to do it 10-5 for Washington.

Starting launcher Mitchell Parker granted four points (two deserved) on seven strokes in 4 2/3 rounds for the Nationals, who won three times after a slide from eight games.

Leaving the Marlins, Eury Perez (6-5), granted seven points in eight strokes in four rounds.

Washington took a 3-0 lead in the first. With James Wood and Daylen Lile, Luis Garcia Jr. struck a simple right that led the pair. Garcia then scored to reach 3-0 on a double Jorge Alfaro, his first safe blow from the major league since July 16, 2023, then with the Boston Red Sox.

In the third, Nunez sent a quick ball into the Nationals enclosure in the right field to push it to 4-0. Wood chose and went to the second row on a bullet, and the lile base on the right led it to mark for an advantage of 5-0.

The hosts pushed their advance in the fourth. Robert Hassell III led with a double, and Brady House followed by the launch of a sweeper on the left field wall to do it 7-0.

Unable to capitalize on the summit of the fourth with the loaded bases and an exit, Miami pierced in the fifth. After Eric Wagaman opened its doors with a single, Joey Wiemer connected for a two-point shot in the left field seats to cut it at 7-2.
