CNN defines WAPO Rachel Tashjian fashion criticism as a senior style journalist

The Washington Post has lost a fashion critic in Rachel Tashjian as she joins CNN as a senior style journalist, the network announced on Tuesday.
She will present herself to Fiona Sinclair Scott, world editor of CNN style, under the editorial team of the features of Choire Sicha. His hiring comes as the Information Media Society is preparing a “non-nine digital product” which focuses on the features and lifestyle content.
“I am absolutely delighted that I can finally work with Rachel,” said Sicha in a statement. “It is a brilliant journalist who is also perfectly hilarious, insightful, curious and empathetic, which she writes on savings or on Dior.”
Tashjian “will provide multiplatform reports and an analysis of daily appearance and haute couture, documenting cultural changes that influence our appearance”, according to CNN. It will be based in New York.
Before Wapo and CNN, the style expert was director of fashion news at Harper’s Bazaar and was even the first GQ fashion critic. Tashjian also founded his opulent Tips newsletter.
This is only the last of a long line of editorial outings of the publication this year after the owner Jeff Bezos reorganized the opinion section. That said, the editor Matt Murray insists that the billionaire does not mix with the editorial room.
