My version of this viral adrenal cocktail

If you have spent time browsing well-being blogs or social media in recent times, you have probably encountered the viral recipe for “Cortisol cocktail”. Influencers and experts boast this drink as an elixir miracle to support adrenal health and reduce cortisol levels.

Although it is easy to get excited with a trendy health tonic, I want to examine the original recipe closer and decompose each ingredient. I will then share my own version of the adrenal cocktail recipe and why I use different ingredients.

Creation of a Cortisol cocktail

Back in my day (or at least 12 years old when I learned natural life for the first time), people called this a adrenal tonic or a surreal cocktail recipe. And there were a lot of variations. I then experienced some of them, I found a couple I loved, then I did not drink them for years.

Last year, with an increase in stress (hello life of single mom), I returned to them and I found a recipe that I like better. In its pure form, this recipe is not soft or indulgent like some of the other recipes that you will find online. However, I find that I feel much better on this, and it has a lower sugar content without the OJ water base and coconut. If you don’t like an unsweetened drink, you can always add one of these original ingredients or a pinch of honey or natural sweetening of your choice.

Let us dive into the original “cocktail”, the ingredients behind, and why I opted for some adjustments to make it even more favorable to my body.

The ingredients of adrenal origin and theIR advantages

The original recipe generally contains a mixture of orange juice, coconut water, salt, honey, tartar cream and sometimes other ingredients. You can find recipes that add collagen powder, coconut cream, coconut milk and even sparkling water. It is believed that each of them has a role in supporting the adrenal glands and balanced cortisol levels.

Our adrenal hormones also help maintain healthy blood pressure and regulate heart rate. Excess cortisol can damage intestinal health, resulting in weight gain, desires and symptoms of fleeing guys. This can have a global detrimental effect on endocrine and immune systems.

Here is a breakdown of health benefits behind these ingredients:

  • Orange juice: Packed vitamin C, orange juice plays a role in the support of adrenal health. Vitamin C is an essential nutrient that helps the body to cope with stress hormones and helps the production of cortisol. The adrenal glands use a large amount of vitamin C in case of stress, which is why reconstruction can be useful.
  • Coconut water: Known for its electrolyte content, in particular potassium and magnesium, coconut water is often included for its moisturizing properties. Good hydration is crucial for the adrenal function. Coconut water minerals help maintain the balance of electrolytes, supporting global resilience to stresses.
  • Salt: Salt, especially high quality sea salt or Himalayan pink salt, helps balance sodium levels. This balance is important to maintain a healthy adrenal function. When cortisol is high, it can cause imbalances in sodium and potassium, therefore the addition of salt helps support hydration and fluid balance.
  • Dear: Honey is added as a natural source of sugar, which offers rapid energy to the body. Since stress can exhaust energy levels, a small amount of honey helps provide a quick glucose explosion to supply the body and support the adrenal function. It is also more suited to blood sugar than transformed sugar.
  • Tartar cream: This ingredient is often added for its potassium content, which can help offset the effects of stress on potassium levels. It is believed that potassium helps regulate the response to stress and balance electrolytes.

Although this combination of ingredients is certainly nourishing and offers adrenal health benefits, I made some adjustments. This updated version is better suitable for my needs and improves the efficiency of the drink in cortisol balancing.

My cortisol cocktail recipe: a touch on the original

This version has the main advantages of the ingredients of origin but better supports the balance of cortisol. It also offers even more nourishing advantages with whole food ingredients.

Here is what is in the adrenal cocktail:

  • Lemon: Rich in vitamin C, which is essential for adrenal health and cortisol regulation. Lemon also helps to allocate the body, promote digestion and provide a refreshing start to the day.
  • Olive oil: Olive oil is a healthy fat that supports the production of hormones and offers anti-inflammatory advantages. I love to add it to my Cortisol cocktail because it helps me feel full and nourished. Healthy fats also play a role in hormonal balance, including cortisol.
  • Ocean Minerals (activation products): These ocean minerals offer a powerful source of electrolytes, including magnesium. They support adrenal health and help keep cortisol levels under control. I prefer ocean minerals because they contain a wide range of minerals that work in synergy to support general well-being. I find it more broadly favorable than salt and is a softer tasting.
  • Liquid potassium: Potassium is essential for fluid balance and cellular function. Since chronic stress depletes potassium levels, I add a few drops of liquid potassium to help reconstruct it and support healthy cortisol rhythms. I find that it is one of the key ingredients, and in the original recipe comes from the cream of tartar. I rather prefer liquid potassium.

Adrenal cocktail recipe

Here is my version of the viral adrenal cocktail. This gives a boost of vitamin C, healthy fats and minerals to support healthy cortisol levels.

  • Add all the ingredients to a mixer (including the whole lemon with the skin if it is organic and your mixer can mix it sufficiently).

  • Mix high for about a minute or until it is completely smooth.

  • Optional: for a smoother texture, filter the drink through a fine mesh coland.

When to drink A adrenal cocktail

This can be consumed at any time of the day.

I often appreciate it in the morning, before eating. This helps launch my day with a nourishing drink and supports my hydration and digestion. Cortisol levels are the highest in the morning, and this drink provides significant nutrients that support adrenal health and energy levels. This will not artificially reduce your cortisol levels (because cortisol is naturally higher in the morning).

Alternatively, this can be consumed in the afternoon or evening to help lower cortisol before bed and can be favorable to sleep in this way. When I was the most stressed, I sometimes had a version of this twice a day or added lemon juice and minerals to a soothing tea at night.

Why is not a miracle remedy (but always useful)

Although the Cortisol cocktail can be a useful and united addition to your routine, it is important to remember that it is not a miracle remedy. It will not magically solve all your stress or will not make cortisol problems disappear overnight. Cortisol Balance is a complex problem that requires a holistic approach, which is why I always associate this drink with other lifestyle practices to support general well-being.

Here are some other tips to help healthy cortisol levels

These are all essential steps in promoting a well -balanced lifestyle that supports hormonal balance.

Other hormonal support supplements

I often associate this drink with hormonal support supplements. I’m going to take the saffron (morning or in the evening), Ashwagandha (morning) and Rhodiola (morning). These adaptogens and herbs stimulating mood help to balance cortisol and support a response to healthy stress. Saffron helps mood and mental clarity, while Ashwagandha and Rhodiola help regulate cortisol levels and reduce the fatigue induced by stress.

Together, these supplements complete the effects of Cortisol cocktail and provide additional support for a calm and balanced start of the day.

In summary …

  • Cortisol cocktail ingredients: The original recipe contains ingredients such as orange juice, coconut water and salt, all designed to support the adrenal function and balance cortisol.
  • My version: I exchange in lemon (for vitamin C) and olive oil (for healthy fats). I also opt for ocean minerals and liquid potassium for increased support for cortisol.
  • When to drink: This cocktail can be consumed at any time of the day, so experience to find what suits you best. In the morning before food, it can also help support hydration and digestion. In the evening, he can support sleep (don’t forget to drink anything just before bed).
  • Supplements: Combine the cocktail with hormonal support supplements such as saffron, ashwagandha and rhodiola for additional stress support.
  • The lifestyle counts: Cortisol cocktail can be a useful tool. But remember, it is more effective when combined with good sleep habits, exposure to light, breathing and stress management practices.

If you feel stressed or dealing with adrenal fatigue, Cortisol cocktail can be a simple but effective way to support the natural rhythm of your body. However, it is the combination of diet, lifestyle and stress management that will really help you reach a lasting balance.
