MSC Preziosa begins repositioning its cruises in South America – Cruise Industry News

MSC Preziosa left Germany earlier this month, beginning a repositioning cruise to South America.

Scheduled to open the season in Brazil, the MSC Cruises ship is currently offering a transatlantic crossing to Santos.

Departing from Hamburg on October 5, 2025, the 21-night itinerary includes visits to destinations in France, England, Spain and Portugal before arriving in South America.

Ports of call that will be visited by MSC Preziosa include Southampton, Le Havre, La Coruña, Gijón, St. Cruz de Tenerife and Funchal.

The ship built in 2013 is then expected to cross the Atlantic to visit Salvador, Ilhéus, Búzios and Rio de Janeiro.

As the first ship to arrive in the country for scheduled cruises, MSC Preziosa is then expected to launch a series of itineraries departing from Santos starting October 26, 2025.

The three- to eight-night cruises include visits to destinations in Brazil, such as Salvador and Angra dos Reis, as well as ports in Argentina and Uruguay, including Buenos Aires and Montevideo.

The 3,500-passenger ship will also introduce a new home port for MSC Cruises to the region, offering cruises from Balneário Camboriú.

As part of MSC Cruises’ 2025-26 season in the region, the ship will then be joined by MSC Seaview, MSC Fantasia, MSC Sinfonia and MSC Armonia.

In addition to Santos and Balneário Camboriú, the ships will offer itineraries from a wide range of ports in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, including Maceió, Salvador, Itajaí, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Montevideo.

South America will also see regular operations from Costa Cruises during the 2025-2026 season, with Costa Diadema and Costa Favolosa serving local markets.

Other cruise lines, including Princess, Oceania, Celebrity and Silversea, will also offer itineraries in the region.
