Singapore to welcome the launch of the MotoGP 2026 season

MotoGP will launch the 2026 season with a special launch event in Singapore, Motorsport.com learned.

Dorna, with the 11 teams, selected the city-state as a new host of the launch of the collective season of the series.

Singapore was chosen on Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne, the other two sites that were taken into account for the presentation.

He will take over the mantle of the capital Thailand Bangkok, which organized the world launch inaugural earlier this year for great success. However, the presentation will take place over two days, extending from February 6 to 7.

The decision to choose Singapore as a launch location also shaped the pre-season testing calendar, the first official test should take place on February 2 to 4 on the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. This will be preceded by the Shakedown test for test pilots and recruits on the same track.

Once these three days of testing is completed, some team trucks will do the four -hour road trip in Singapore, set up on February 5 before the next day’s window.

The place and time of the second pre-season test remain undecided. The options include management directly in Buriram – which hosts the opening of the season on March 1 – just after launch or about 10 days later.

Although this last scenario would complicate cycling updates before the first round, this would facilitate the financial pressure on the teams with smaller budgets.

The February calendar was finalized during the meetings held in Barcelona. From a logistical point of view, Singapore is less practical than Kuala Lumpur, but much easier than Melbourne, who was highly considered, but would have stretched the resources of the teams at the limit.

It will also be the first launch under Liberty Media, which recently acquired Dorna.

Liberty, the commercial rights holder of Formula 1, organized a high -level F1 collective presentation in London this year, although the teams returned to individual launches in 2026.
