‘Monster’ Season 4 Begins Filming With Charlie Hunnam and Ella Beatty

No rest for the wicked, nor for Charlie Hunnam when it comes to Monster.
With the third season of Monster: The Ed Gein Story Currently streaming atop the Netflix charts, the fourth season of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s true-crime anthology has entered production in Los Angeles.
The fourth season of the Emmy-winning hit Netflix series stars season three star Hunnam as well as Ella Beatty. (Feud: Capote against the swans, if I had legs I would kick you) and will tell the story of the series’ first female “monster”, Lizzie Borden, who will be played by Beatty.
Borden was tried and acquitted of the ax murders of her father and stepmother in 1892 in Fall River, Massachusetts. His murder trial has been the subject of numerous film and television stories, including the 1975 television film. Hunnam will play Andrew Borden with Vicky Krieps (Ghost thread, Bodice) in the role of Bridget Sullivan, Rebecca Hall (Christine, passing through) as Abby Borden, Billie Lourd (American Horror Story, The Last Showgirl) as Emma Borden and Jessica Barden (The end of the fucking world, Dune: Prophecy) as Nance O’Neill.
Max Winkler (Monster: The Ed Gein Story, Fleur) will direct the first episode. Additional casting and production details will be revealed at a later date.
Monster: The Ed Gein Story released all episodes on October 3 and quickly entered Netflix’s Top 10 with 12.2 million views worldwide in its first three days.
The third season centers on Ed Gein, a murderer known for killing women, wearing their skin and faces, and digging up graves. The Ed Gein season follows previous seasons, Dahmer – Monster: The story of Jeffrey Dahmer And Monsters: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez. Each of these seasons has sparked conversations around sensational depictions of murder victims, and Ed will also sparked some debate.
Before the show’s release, Hunnam said The Hollywood Reporter“I never felt like we were sensationalizing. I never felt on set that we were doing anything gratuitous or for shock value. It was all about trying to tell this story as honestly as possible… What I hope and really trust is that it was a very sincere exploration of the human condition and why this boy did what he did.”
