Jean Segura, who spent 12 years in the major baseball league and won the star honors in 2013 and 2018, retired from MLB, his CAA agency announced on Wednesday.

“Congratulations (Jean Segura) for an incredible career: 1,413 games, 1,545 strokes, 211 stolen bases, 110 Home Runs, 2016 National League leader, All-Star 2013 and All-Star 2018. Good luck retired,” Caa Baseball wrote in an Instagram position.
Segura, 35, appeared for the last time in an MLB match in 2023 with the Miami Marlins.
He began his career in 2012 when he made his debut with the Los Angeles Angels on July 24, 2012.

Segura signed with the angels as an international free agent in 2007. Three days after having made his debut at the MLB, he was exchanged to the Brewers of Milwaukee in a deadline which sent the winner of the Cy Young Zack Greinke to the Halos.
Segura obtained its first honor from the stars in 2013 – its first full season with the Brewers. He spent two additional seasons with Milwaukee before being exchanged again, this time during the offseason at the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Segura spent the 2016 season with Arizona before being exchanged for the third time in his career, heading for the Seattle Mariners in an agreement of five players who brought Ketel Marte to Arizona.
Segura signed an extension of $ 70 million over five years with Seattle in June 2017 and obtained his second career appearance in 2018. Then he was in motion again.

After the 2018 season, Segura was exchanged at the Philadelphia Phillies. He spent four seasons in Philadelphia before ending his career with Miami in 2023.
Segura was with the Baltimore Orioles organization in 2024, but did not win a MLB call. He recently played in the Dominican winter league.
Segura ended his MLB career with more than 11 years of service time, which makes him eligible for the fully acquired pension.
He was a career striker .281 with 110 circuits, 513 beaten points, 211 stolen bases, 237 doubles and an OPS of 0.729. In addition to his two All-Star selections, he led the NL in Hits in 2016 with 203 and appeared in 17 games in the playoffs, including six World Series games with the Phillies in 2022.
