MLB Trade Deadline Rumors: seven players who could be moved

Even with only more than three days before the deadline for trade, there is not much clarity concerning sellers and buyers. A playoff series of 12 teams blurs the border between buyers and sellers – sometimes to the point where sellers are closer to a place in playoffs than buyers.

The Royals of Kansas City, who are 52 to 54 years old and four games on the final point of the American League, said that they would at least accept an extension on Sunday evening with an imminent Seth Lugo potential agent. Meanwhile, all the signs indicate the cardinals of St. Louis – at 54–53 and 3 1/2 games from the last place of the NL -moving – moving in the coming days.

A bunch of teams in the middle could still go in both directions, some making mini-rectors while keeping an eye on the return to restraint in 2026. And then there are the Padres of San Diego, which could sell and buy in imitable hyperactive of AJ Preller.

Here are seven players likely to change uniforms this week, listed in the order of the impact they may have on a new team.

Eugenio Suárez, Diamondbacks 3B

You have to imagine that the Diamondbacks – Six games from the last point of Joker, but only two years withdrawn from a series of World Series as a team of 84 victories – would like to start again. But Suárez, an imminent free agent at a rate of 50 counterparts, is the type of player who can bring a transport and relaunch a retool, especially on a market with so few sellers and title names.

Ryan Helsley, Cardinaux closer

The cardinals are only four years old to overcome a deficit of seven games and win the second point of Joker NL – then final. But they are stuck in neutral for three seasons, and Chaim Bloom is preparing to take over as president of baseball operations next season. Many contenders could use a narrower upgrade – or perhaps acquire Helsley with the idea that he would help form a super enclosing as a configuration man.

Mitch Keller, starting pitcher pirates

Frankly, the pirates should simply hasten the inevitable and jazz in this deadline by exchanging Paul Skenes – which will never be held in the long term by the Bob Nutting always to be missed – and would bring back an incredible return with five complete seasons until it reaches the free agency. But the pirates will also obtain a nice package for Keller, which is signed until 2028 and could prosper with a change of decor. The Keller’s career era of 4.43 is half a grade of its FIP (3.92).

Marcell Ozuna, Braves DH

Ozuna cannot play on the ground, comes with enough luggage to fill an airport, and is either by its annual journey on the roller coaster, or is washed. But in an era of offset, someone is sure to hope that Ozuna – which has played for the triple crown in 2020 and 2024 and whose .743 OPS this year is 9% better than the average of the league – can find its stew in a new place.

Luis Robert Jr., White Sox from

He never met expectations, has trouble staying healthy and has apparently been on the southern side for a long time for having called Ron Kitle a teammate. But Robert is only a week from less than his 28th birthday, is removed two years to hit 38 circuits and make the stars team, and is 26 for 32 on baspaths this season. It is certainly worth a leaflet.

Luis Severino, athletics p

Athletics signed Severino to an agreement of $ 67 million last December to try to prove the union they really try. But the Parc des Leagues Minor in Sacramento was a nightmare for Severino, which has a 6.68 MPM at home and a 3.03 MPM on the road. A second consecutive healthy season is more than enough evidence that it is worth the price for someone else as a starter of rotation.

Danny Coulombe, Twins P

The twins are being sold, so a complete disassembly is unlikely – even if the starter Ace Joe Ryan and Jhoan Duran, each under team control until 2027, would become the best launchers on the market if they were available. But Coulombe, 35, an imminent free agent, has an MPM of 0.90 this season and an MPM of 2.16 since he joined Minnesota in 2020. He will recover a lot like the most desirable available SouthPaw.
