MLB ALL-STAR Game Voting: Shohei Ohtani, Aaron judge named Starters, Cal Raleigh, Juan Soto, more in advance
For the second consecutive year, the Slugger of Yankees Aaron Judge led all the players in the votes (4,012,983) in phase 1 of MLB fans voted for the starting position players of the stars match, the League announced on Thursday. The star of Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani, led the players of the National League in the votes. While the main voters of their league, the judge and Ohtani jump for phase 2 of the vote and receive automatic departure places in the star match. Ohtani will be the DH and the NL judge will be one of the three players in the AL.
This is the seventh selection of the judge’s stars ‘stars’ matches and his sixth departure. He was elected as a starter in 2023, but could not play in the match after having undergone an injury to the toes. Ohtani heads for his fifth consecutive stars match and the fifth of his career. He was elected each time in startup. Ohtani began the star match in 2021 as a launcher and in DH.
As for all the others, the two best votes at each position (six best field players) advance in phase 2 of the vote. The reset of the total votes and the starters of All-Star games will be selected from these finalists. Here are the players who have progressed to phase 2:

The second voting phase will start on June 30 and will end on July 2. The rest of the star lists is chosen by a combination of voting and selection of players by the commissioner’s office. The complete lists of the stars will be revealed on July 6. The Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and the manager of the Yankees, Aaron Boone, are the managers of the stars after meeting the World Series of last year.
This year’s star match will be played in the Atlanta suburbs of the suburbs on Tuesday, July 16.
