Misty Copeland dances into a new chapter with her family by her side.
More than two decades after making her professional debut with American Ballet Theater, the dancer performed her final performance with the company in New York on October 22. And after this monumental moment, her husband Olu Evans and their 3 year old son Jackson adorably joined him on stage for the final bow.
In a video posted to her Instagram on October 23, Misty shared several clips of the different dances she performed at the gala. And then she stood next to her husband and son, who donned matching suits and delivered gorgeous bouquets of flowers to her, while confetti rained down around them and the crowd cheered.
“Last night was a moment I will carry with me forever,” Misty captioned the heartwarming footage. “After 25 years with American Ballet Theatre, I took my final bow surrounded by the company and community that have shaped my life and career.”
