Mission: impossible 9-Will this happen?

During the contribution both to “Dead Reckoning” and “The Final Reckoning”, Cruise and McQuarrie were questioned about the future of the “Mission” series, and being the showmen consumed they are, they refused to give concrete answers in one way or another. In 2023, Mcquarrie spoke to Entertainment Weekly of potential potential plans of the series. Mcquarrie responded by making a comparison between the Mission plans of the IMF team in films and the realization of the films themselves, declaring:

“Look, we always turn 8 and there are a certain number of ways that this story could take place. When you look at the mission: impossible, and you watch the team go through these adventures, you have an idea of what is to make a mission film: impossible.
Once again, anyone who has plunged into the special characteristics published in the Films Trade (in particular Mcquarria payments) knows that so many aspects of each film change during the production of the film, not to mention its design. Thus, even if Mcquarrie may seem CAGEY there, he does not lie either.

When Cruise was questioned by Empire at the start of the press tour for “The Final Reckoning” if the film was to be Ethan’s last round, he was certainly going, in the service of being a star and a responsible producer to express the film he promotes, saying that to know Ethan’s fate:
“You have to see the film. It’s a difficult thing for me to chat for the moment, because it’s really something you have to live.”
Although neither Cruise nor McQuarrie have never suggested that the film being the end of Ethan (because, at least in terms of the character’s life, this is not the case), they made several comments on “the final calculation” being a kind of conclusion to the series, or at least this chapter. Cruise called the film “An epic and emotional journey of all the franchise”, while Mcquarrie was a little firmer:
“I hope, I hope, the satisfactory conclusion of a 30 -year -old story. I am quite convinced that people will feel that the title was appropriate.”
Thus, even if no man had direct comments concerning a ninth “mission” – they are there to promote “the final calculation”, after all – their remarks are particularly open, which implies that even if this film is the culmination of everything that preceded it, that does not necessarily mean that there will be nothing after. However, on the red carpet of the film, Cruise would have declared “it’s the final! It is not called” final “for nothing”. Thus, as Mcquarrie said, the plan is still changing.
