Milwaukee County floods; The family house collapses, the streets flooded

County of Milwauke, Wis. – While the county of Milwaukee remains under a river flood warning, new images show the devastating impact of the historical precipitation of the weekend.

What we know:
A house started to collapse while a family was still inside.
Mai Vang, who lives on the northwest side of Milwaukee, said that flood waters poured into its basement around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. A few moments later, she heard her house starting to crack.

She and her daughter escaped just before the foundation breaks in the basement.
Outside, the 60th street was completely covered with water. The cars were almost overwhelmed and Vang said that she had helped people escape their vehicles.
What they say:
“We all started walking to the service station, to us because it was a higher level,” said Vang. “The family could not rescue because the water was everywhere, and they are like, we cannot pass. But we cannot sit here because we are going to freeze to death – we are all soaked.”
The Vang family now remains with relatives because, as well as many others in Milwaukee, try to recover the little they can and understand the rest.
“I don’t even know what to do,” said Vang. “We have lost everything, we just try to save what we can – but we are simply grateful to the Lord that each of us has happened alive.”
Oak Creek flood
What we know:
The floods are widespread in the county, including in Oak Creek.
