They showed a collective capacity to get up on occasion, whether as a favorite against pistons or heavy outsiders against Celtics. It is difficult to teach resilience. As Paul Pierce said once with a quote that will live in my brain forever, “you can’t buy this DNA at Costco. You can’t buy this at Walgreens.”
And although there are cases of play on a fully counterfeit playoff performance (Ahem, Jerome James), the Knicks have been built for the long term even before this race in the playoffs.
