Coastal flood warning in force for the county of St. Mary’s

California, md. – The National Weather Service issued a coastal warning against the floods for the county of St. Mary, warning that tidal waters could increase by 1 to 2 feet above the ground level in vulnerable areas until early October 3, 2025.

The warning, displayed at 3:16 p.m. Thursday, remains in force until 4 am on Friday, with the greatest risk of flooding expected around the tall tides this evening. The forecasters said that the water levels operate 2 to 2.5 feet more than normal, an increase that could push water into the roads and construction sites by the lowest water in the county.

At 3.5 feet, the water generally pours on the roads of St. George Island, reached meters and is close to the structures. Similar conditions are expected in Marinas along the St. Mary river, Smith Creek and Jutland Creek, according to meteorological officials.

High Tide should occur at 10:28 p.m. at Point Lookout, 11:26 p.m. at Piney Point and 12:02 p.m. at Coltons Point. Residents are invited to monitor the conditions, move vehicles from the areas subject to floods and be caution when you travel near the shore overnight.
