The star of “Seinfeld”, Michael Richards, returned to the comedy stage for the first time in almost 20 years.
The 76 -year -old actor went on stage on Wednesday evening for his new tour, “Michael Richards: an evening of conversations, questions and answers”. The tour marks the first time that Richards participated in a public event since a racist explosion derailed his career in 2006.
Richards spoke frankly about the moment that has changed his life and why he has chosen to refuse jobs in the past 17 years. The actor was sometimes wild and exuberant when he played scenes from the television show that put him on the map, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“I had to review [my backstory] Because 19 years ago, I was in a comedy club, and I was a very mean and mean man, “he told the crowd.” That night, doing my act, I interrupted myself, I was heckled and I really took it in the wrong direction. It really went wrong and I said horrible things. Although I was trying to lift it in comedy, believe it or not, playing this idiot which is racist, I channel all this goo Gah, which I do as Dionysian most of the time. I don’t really work with an act, I am very loose on stage, very loose. This Goosey caused me trouble. “”

The star of “Seinfeld” came out of the spotlight after the 2006 incident at The Laugh Factory, where Richards was filmed by shouting racial insults in a group of heckling during a standing set.
The prolonged break lasted 17 years, according to Richards.
“I thought that I would go back and that I am approaching myself outside the show-business, with the exception of the game, except to be far from the character,” he said according to the point of sale. “How about being moved through myself? I took an exodus and I spent many years looking at the mood very, very closely, the feeling, the thought, the dialogue of mood, feeling and thought, to pay attention to my dreams.”
The star of “Trial and Error” noted that he “had taken many calls” of people who wanted to offer him a route to play, but he chose to take nothing.
“Something else wanted me to stay alone, be a recluse,” he told the crowd. “I spent a lot of time every morning in the mountains of Santa Monica. I needed the sun. I stayed with the sun, with the earth. I felt that the order of nature supported me by gathering a kind of order in me.”

Richards began playing comedy in clubs in the 1970s and 1980s. The actor was noticed by Billy Crystal, who gave him a place on his first special television special. Richards continued to play as a regular in “Fridays”.
Finally, he won the role of Kramer in “Seinfeld” – which took place from 1989 to 1998. Richards won three Emmy Awards for an exceptional support actor in a comedy series.
Richards received his own show, “The Michael Richards Show” in 2000, but he was canceled after two months.
During his time in the series “Seinfeld” was a favorite of fans. The original kramer lived on the other side of the corridor of the character of Jerry Seinfeld. The two remain friends today, despite the distance from Richards largely from the stand-up in 2007.

Richards explained that he had chosen to cancel himself in a memoir released in 2024.
“I got out,” he wrote in “Entrances and outings”. During his time away from Hollywood, Richards worked on himself, so that he could understand what led at anger.
“I found the faith along the way,” said Richards previously to Fox News Digital. “Faith in creation and the way in which this system is wonderful – well, it is rather merciful in that it allows us to think about our wrongs and to move on to a better place in itself, to improve. The state of improvement. I am fascinated by that. We, human beings, can learn from our mistakes.”

Richards admitted that he was “swept by rabies” he felt when he heckled by public members.
“I tried at first, but everything was bad,” recalls Richards. “It’s a bad night, and I am rather fascinated by the severity of gravity.”
“This is another thing. As an artist late at night, I am curious to see, because sometimes I had really terrible nights and I stick to and I go out with an interesting bump,” he added. “And what I hear by bump is that I will find a comedy and button the performance. That night, I think I should have left the stage.”
Richards joked by saying that he should have said: “Good night, ladies and gentlemen. And I promise that if you come back next week, I will be funnier.”
