In January 2022, Hudson Madsen, an American army sergeant, died by suicide on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. He was 26 years old.
Born in 1995 and raised in Los Angeles, Hudson followed a path, enlisting in the army and possibly parked in Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. He ended a deployment in Afghanistan and built a life with his wife, Carlie, whom he married in 2017.
After Hudson’s death, Carlie paid tribute to him on Instagram, writing in her organic: “Hudson Lee 05.20.1995–01.23.2022 I love you more.” The simple message offered an overview of the depth of their link.
In a declaration at Los Angeles Times,, Madsen expressed his sorrow, sharing that the last text message he received from his son simply read: “I love you, dad.”
“He had typical life challenges that people have with finances, but he wanted a family,” said Michael Madsen Los Angeles Times. “He looked at his future, so it’s breathtaking. I just can’t understand what happened.”
In a declaration at Metro, His family said: “We have a broken heart and overwhelmed by sorrow and pain in the loss of Hudson. His memory and light will remember all those who knew and loved him.”
The tragedy has wreaked havoc on Madsen’s personal life. In September 2024, after almost three decades of marriage, he asked for the divorce of his wife, Deanna. According to legal documents obtained by PeopleMadsen allegedly alleged that his behavior had contributed to the difficulties of their son.
