Michael Jordan joins NBC as a special contributor for his NBA coverage

New York (AP) – Michael Jordan joins NBC Sports as a special contributor to his NBA coverage when the 2025-26 season begins.

NBC made this announcement on Monday morning during its initial presentation to the Radio City Music Hall by appearing networks in the next television season.

“I am so excited to see the NBA again on NBC,” said Jordan in a video message. “The NBA on NBC was a significant part of my career, and I am delighted to be a special contributor to the project. I can’t wait to see you all when the NBC on NBC is launched in October.”

NBC amounts to carrying the NBA after an absence of 23 years. He had rights of the NBA from 1990 to 2002 and won the six Jordan championships as a member of the Chicago Bulls.

This is the first time that Jordan has joined a network. His appearances and comments during the documentary “The Last Dance” 2020 on his career and the end of the Bulls dynasty in 1998 created many titles.

“Michael’s heritage on and off the field speaks of himself,” said NBC sports president Rick Cordella. “We are incredibly proud to have it joined our cover.”

The 11 -year NBC agreement with the NBA and the WNBA begins in October. Peacock will broadcast the matches exclusively on Monday evening while NBC / Peacock will have regional doublesheaders on Tuesday. NBC and Peacock will also launch “Sunday Night Basketball” in January.
