The emblematic shirt of the 1978 World Cup of Peru reissued, Adidas collection unveils Adidas

Few kits in the history of football are as recognizable as the 1978 World Cup jersey – a crunchy white canvas cut with this daring and diagonal red belt. Although the team did not go beyond the group phase that year, the look became an icon.

Now Adidas revives this legendary design as part of its current “Bring back” retro series – and it’s a beauty.

After their recent drops celebrating the 50th anniversary of Argentina and the centenary of Colombia, Adidas now lights the spotlights Blanquirroja.

The capsule, entitled “Bring Back del 78”, revives the long sleeve version of the 78 of Peru jersey in the faithful details: the belt is sharp, the clean silhouette and the Adidas Originals Trefoil logo is proudly on the chest – a wink at the time that comes.

To celebrate the launch, Adidas gathered legends and rising stars. 1978 heroes like Héctor Chumpitaz and Teófilo Cubillas join their forces with current national figures – Paolo Guerrero, Mafer Reyes, Flavia Montes, Ian Wisdom and Fabiola Herrera – in a symbolic celebration of the lasting heritage of Peruvian football.

It’s more than a jersey – it’s a bridge through generations, a portable story and a tribute to the lively air Blanquirroja pass.
