The Mexican international sealed the 3-0 victory which leaves Club Tijuana with one foot in the semifinals of the Apertura 2025 – a milestone they haven’t reached since Clausura 2018. And with that, the hype around the star of the moment has only grown.
Mora makes history
Some had him on their radar since the penalty he earned against FC Juárez, but now, in the playoffs, Mora is officially youngest player never scoreand at this stage. It surpasses these names:
- Rafael Marquez – Winter 1996 | 17 years, 287 days
- Cesar Villaluz – Clausura 2006 | 17 years, 289 days
- Omar Esparza – Clausura 2006 | 17 years, 358 days
Mora checks every box: not only is he the youngest scorer in the playoffs, but he also holds this record in League MX overall.
On August 31, 2024, he found the net against Club León, becoming the youngest goalscorer in the league’s history at just 15 years old – a sign of what many expect to be a stellar career.
Is Mora the youngest debutant in Liga MX?
No. Despite the accolades piling up at such a young age, the record for youngest debut in Mexico’s top flight still belongs to Víctor Mañónwho took the field for Pachuca in the 2007 opener at 15 years and 215 days old.
