Sailors juggle magic numbers; Joyful rocky, they cannot lose 122

Seattle sailors think of magic numbers. Colorado rockies are just happy that they have avoided a tragic number.
The teams open an interleague series of three games Tuesday evening at the T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
The Mariners (87-69) won four consecutive games and 14 of their last 15 to go first in the American League West. With six games to play, their magic numbers are two to get a place in the playoff series, three to win the Division title and four to win the head of the League and claim a bye in the first round.
The navies entered their weekend series in Houston tied with the Astros at the top of the division, but they swept the three games to take a commanding lead and win the equality break because they won the series of the season.
“Honestly, you could not ask for a better set of three games,” said the recipient of the Mariners Cal Raleigh, who leads MLB with 58 circuits. “Obviously, there are a lot of things on the line, and I give credit to the guys here in this clubhouse. They have never started.”
JP Crawford struck a big slam and Raleigh added a two -point shot – resetting his season’s record for a switch – in a second round of seven rounds on Sunday evening which led to a 7-3 victory in Houston. Logan Gilbert gave a point on three strokes in six rounds.
“It’s great to be where we are,” said Crawford. “We cannot look too much in the future. We have to worry about our business on Tuesday.”
The biggest concern for the navies entering the last week of the regular season is the health of the right -hander Bryan Woo, who left the start of Friday after five non -goal sleeves due to “minor inflammation” in his right pectoral muscle.
The regular wooo turn in the rotation occurs on Thursday against the Rockies, but it could be pushed.
“It’s really just a daily thing,” said Mariners manager Dan Wilson. “We will continue to assess it every day. … And that’s really what we know at this stage.”
The Rockies (43-113) won two of the three games of the Los Angeles Angels visiting during the weekend to exceed the Chicago White Sox last year (41-121) and avoid the losses most in season a single season.
Veteran Kyle Freeland gave one point on five strokes in six rounds on Sunday in a 3-1 victory.
“We want to finish as hard as possible. But with that, it will be a little pleasant to exhale and say to ourselves:” This season is over. What can I learn from it? “Then go forward,” said Freeland. “The severity of the season has weighed, obviously not the situation in which we want to be.”
The opener of the Tuesday series should present a pair of right-handers in the recruit of Rockies McCade Brown (0-4, 9.17 ERA) and the Bryce Miller des Mariners (4-5, 5.58), who will face the opposing team for the first time.
Brown will make his sixth major league. He did not make a decision during a defeat of 8-4 last Wednesday against the visit of Miami in which he abandoned three points on four strokes and four balls in four rounds.
Miller granted three points in eight strokes in five rounds the same day in Kansas City, but he did not make a decision in a match that the navies finally lost 7-4 when the Royals rallied with four points at the end of the eighth. This has been used as a Seattle defeat since September 6.
