Max Verstappen dominates in victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix

Sunday, Max Verstappen went from pole to the top of the podium, winning the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in a dominant performance.
It was the second consecutive victory for Verstappen, after his victory two weeks ago at the Italian Grand Prix, and his fourth of the season.
Verstappen, in the Netherlands, has never been exceeded on the city of the city of Baku.
“I think this weekend was incredible for us,” said Red Bull driver.
“Of course, it’s not easy here,” he added. “It was very windy today, so the car was still moving a lot, but of course, I am incredibly satisfied with this performance.”
George Russell of Mercedes, who finished 14.6 seconds from Mercedes, who finished 14.6 seconds, finished 14.6 seconds, a Carlos Sainz de Williams, who was 19.1 seconds.
For Williams, he has marked the first team’s podium appearance since 2021.

“Honestly, I cannot describe how happy I am or how good it feels”, the Spanish Sainz after the race. “He has even better taste than the very first podium I made.
“We fought hard all year round and, finally today, we just proved that when we have the speed. We got it all year round, and when everything comes together, we can do incredible things together.
“We nailed the race – not a single error, and we managed to beat a lot of cars that … I was not expecting to beat.”
Although the weekend was a huge success for Verstappen and Red Bull – his teammate, Yuki Tsunoda from Japan, was sixth – as well as for Sainz, it was a shock for the McLaren duo of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, who hold 1-2 within the drivers.
Piastri, from Australia, crashed on the first round and Norris of Great Britain finished seventh, narrowing Piastri’s advance on his teammate at 25 points. With the victory, the quadruple reigning champion, Verstappen, has only 69 points with seven races to do over the season.
After a qualification accident on Saturday, Piastri began ninth on the grid and deplored his lost opportunities from the weekend.
“Certainly not my best time,” Piastri told Sky Sports F1 after the race.
“Today was an idiotic error. Certainly a disorderly weekend, for sure,” continued Piastri. “I would be more worried if I was slow and try to compensate for this and have these mistakes because of this.
“The fact that they are only simple keys in the judgment is obviously not a position in which I want to be or that I want to put the mechanisms, because it was a difficult weekend for them.”
The next F1 stop is the Singapore Grand Prix on October 5.
