Today, Zaslav and Company make a subject, the CEO saying that WBD “brought HBO, the brand which represents the highest quality in the media, to accelerate more” the “growth of the streaming service in the years to come”.
WBD’s announcement added that “the return of the HBO brand to HBO Max will further advance the service and will amplify the unique character that subscribers can expect from the offer.”
“It is also a testimony to WBD’s desire to continue to itter with audacity with its strategy and its approach – due to strongly on the data and the ideas of consumers – to position itself as best as success,” said the conglomerate of the media.
“Not everything for everyone”
The announcement is the result of WBD rethinks its streaming strategy because leadership recognizes that it has not sold max as an essential streaming service.
Last month, the leaders admitted that Max was considered more than one complementary service, according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ). The leaders said at the time that they no longer wanted to try to push their streaming service as something for each member of the household.
“What people want us in a world where they have Netflix and Amazon [Prime Video] are these things that differentiate us, ”told WSJ Casey Bloys, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of HBO and Max, WSJ.
Since then, the strategy has included moving further from children’s programming and certain discovery content, such as programs from Food Network and HGTV. There have also been WBD reports exploring the discovery of Max splitting.
“We are not fighting for the more beating game,” said WBD president and chief executive officer. “We will let others manage the volume.”
