MATCH PREVIEW: Inter Miami CF hosts Atlanta United for final home game of regular season

Inter Miami CF (17V-7L-8L, 59 points) is scheduled for its final home game of the 2025 regular season this Saturday, October 11, when the team hosts Atlanta United FC (5W-15L-12L, 27 points). Kickoff at Chase Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

Inter Miami earned a 4-1 home win over the New England Revolution last Saturday in the MLS regular season. Doubles from legendary defender Jordi Alba and striker Tadeo Allende led the team to victory, while captain Lionel Messi provided three assists.

Messi’s performance in the win over New England went down in the history books. Our captain’s hat trick of assists helped him reach a league record 41 goals for the season, second all-time behind Carlos Vela’s 49 goals during the 2019 season.

Inter Miami currently sits third in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 17 wins, seven losses and eight draws for a total of 59 points, having already clinched a spot in the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs. Notably, with a victory on Saturday, Inter Miami would secure home-field advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

Inter Miami’s offensive unit has been in fine form so far this 2025 regular season, with forwards/wingers/attacking midfielders accounting for 56 of the team’s 72 goals so far this MLS regular season.

Messi leads the way with 24 goals and is currently tied for first place in the race for the Golden Boot presented by Audi. Tadeo Allende is second with 11 goals, followed by Luis Suárez with nine goals and Telasco Segovia with seven. Fafa Picault and Allen Obando complete the list with four goals and one goal respectively.

Saturday’s meeting will be the 19th between these two teams in the history of the Club. Inter Miami has recorded seven wins, seven defeats and four draws in the last meetings.

The last time the teams met was last March in the regular season, with Inter Miami taking a 1-2 victory on the road.

Atlanta travels to South Florida after losing 1-0 on the road to LAFC last Saturday. In total, the Georgia-based team recorded five wins, 15 losses and 12 draws for a total of 27 points and sits in 14th place in the Eastern Conference standings. Atlanta is not in the running for a spot in the 2025 Audi Cup MLS Playoffs.

Forward Emmanuel Lattte Lath leads the team with seven goals this regular season, while midfielder Miguel Almirón is the top assist with seven.
