Dacara Thompson, a 19 -year -old woman who disappeared from Prince George’s county two weeks ago, was killed and a 35 -year -old Maryland man is accused of his murder, police said on Friday.
The suspect, Hugo Hernandez-Mendez, of Bowie, is accused of first and second-degree murders after an organization that was found in Anne Arundel County, said police chief of Prince George, George Nader. The police think that the body is that of Thompson.
Hernandez-Mendez is in police custody and detained without surety, announced the police of the County of Prince George. Police spoke with Hernandez-Mendez and obtained limited cooperation, officials announced at a press conference.
The surveillance video showed that Thompson would approach a black SUV at the beginning of August 23, speaks to the driver and will gladly enter the police.
The SUV driver went to a house in the Kembridge Drive Bloc 12000 in Bowie, police said.
The detectives searched the house on Thursday and found evidence that Thompson had been murdered in Hernandez-Mendez’s room in this house, police announced.
Hernandez-Mendez took Thompson’s body where it was found on Sunday, more than a week after the murder, police announced.
Hernandez-Mendez has access to the black SUV that Thompson entered, police said.
The cause of the death of Thompson was not determined, but the office of the chief forensic scientist should govern his death a homicide.
The investigation is still active and the police investigate the question of whether Thompson and Hernandez-Mendez knew each other before she was killed.
Hernandz-Mendez illegally lived in the United States, police said. Nader said Prince George police were aware of an earlier arrest.
US Park police officers arrested him in April for the accusation of influence. The federal government then released him, pending trial, said the director of Prince George County Aisha Braveboy.
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement published an inmate for Hernandez-Mendez on Thursday.
Braveboy was asked if his immigration status was relevant.
“The US government made the status of relevant individuals. He was someone who was under their care, and they made the decision to release him,” said Braveboy.
Thompson missed for more than a week before a body was found
Dacara Thompson’s family saw her for the last time on August 22 and reported his disappearance the next day, police announced. His car was found on August 24.
Police from the Maryland State, on Sunday informed Prince George’s County Police that a female body was found off Route 50 in Anne Arundel County, said Prince George County Police on Wednesday afternoon during a press conference.
“We have not yet confirmed that it was missing,” he said. “But the characteristics are similar, so we explore that.”
Thompson’s parents have undertaken an exhaustive clues
Thompson left his father’s house of Lanham in the night of August 22, telling her father that she was heading to get gas for his car. The two communicated briefly that night, and she told her father that she would soon be at home.
His car was found two days later parked in front of a fire mouth and pointed out in the wrong direction in front of the Chillum-Delphi volunteer fire station. His handbag, containing credit cards and money, was still inside the vehicle, but his phone and keychain had left and the phone was disabled.
Thompson was a new driver, said his mother in News4, and it seemed to him that his daughter had just left the car and planned to come back very quickly.
Thompson’s family thinks that a person seen in the grainy surveillance video could be Thompson walking away from his car around 1:30 am on August 23.
His parents, Carmen and Daniel Thompson, painted the area around the place where their daughter’s car was found, looking for clues more than a week after seeing her for the last time.
“I exhaust all the resources, everything I can think of,” said Carmen Thompson.
“I’m afraid but still full of hope,” said Daniel Thompson.
