Martin Short has an idea how to bring Jiminy GLICK to bring back

Jiminy GLICK tore Hollywood in a way that took the rich, arrogant and Primadonna state of mind in an ankle. Unfortunately, it was not real, having been the swollen creation of Martin Short as a way to make fun of the culture of celebrities. Blunt and as far from being politically correct as possible, Jiminy Glick was really of his time. However, Short has some ideas on how he could resuscitate the character.
Speaking with Indiewire, Martin Short declared that it would not necessarily be the culture of celebrities that he hears, but rather those of the national capital. “I think if I had to make another film Jiminy, I would do Mr. Glick goes to Washington. I mean, everyone in this world has an element of absurdity. When you see the news now, you cannot widen wider than Marjorie Taylor Greene. You couldn’t create a wider character than that.
But remember, it’s 2025 and Jiminy Glick has really not had any major presence for two decades. Despite some offsses here and there (even as recently as last year), Glick seemed to be linked to the mid-2000s. So how would his humor integrate into today’s climate? (Remember when he asked Mel Brooks why he had such a problem with the Nazis?) “You know, the subjective comedy. Some people like Jiminy and some people hate Jiminy. Some people like the three stooges and some people hate them. All I know is that people who hate Jiminy, I would probably get bored with them … But I think it would make sense, I suppose it can be, in the world of obsessed PC that Jiminey saying, like the outside that it can be, [would be cathartic]. You see, Jiminy’s gadget was that he was moron. It is a moron with power. This is how I always described it.
Jiminy Glick appeared for the first time in the short term Martin’s short show Before obtaining its own derivative series, GLICK at prospective hourswhich lasted three seasons on Comedy Central. In 2004, he had his own film with Jiminy Glick in Lalawood.
Are you a fan of Jiminy Glick? How do you think it would be received today?
