Martin Odegaard ended up with his knee in a splint and Declan Rice was forced with a back injury while Arsenal’s injury problems intensified during their 2-0 victory against West Ham.
The Gunners went to the top of the Premier League thanks to the opener of Rice and a Bukayo Saka penalty at the Emirates stadium, but the victory came at a cost because Odegaard and Rice had to be withdrawn.
Odegaard, who only recently returned from a shoulder problem, lasted only half an hour, becoming the first player in the history of the Premier League to be replaced before half-time in three consecutive departures when he was replaced by Martin Zubimendi after a collision by Crysencio Summerville.
“He had a knee knee conflict and was immediately uncomfortable,” said Arteta at his press conference.
“I just talked to him and he is not positive. He has a splint. We will have to wait and see doctors.”
Arteta was also sieve on Rice, who hugged his back when he made room for Mikel Merino in the 79th minute after opening the scoring with his first goal in the campaign.
“He’s not going well because he asked me to go out, so it’s a shame,” said Arteta.
“He had pain in the back and he could not continue, which is something very unusual for Declan, so we will have to assess him and see how he is.”

It remains to be seen if Odegaard and Rice will be able to present themselves to international functions with Norway and England respectively, but their injuries are only the last people to allocate Arsenal this season.
The artillerymen are already without Call Maduyke,, Kai Havertz,, Pine And Gabriel Jesuswhile William Saliba,, Bukayo of,, Ben White And Christian Norgaard also had spells.
Arsenal has undergone at least one injury in all their seven Premier League games except one so far this season.
Odegaard’s injury is particularly frustrating following impressive presentations against Newcastle and Olympiakos. The 26 -year -old also had to detach himself in previous matches against Leeds and Nottingham Forest.
“We haven’t had it since the start of the season for one reason or the other, shoulder twice, then this injury,” added Arteta.
“We have to wait and see the extent of this injury.
“We will find solutions, but obviously, our captain is in a place that gives us a completely different dimension with the things he can do, especially in attack. I hope it is not so bad.”
