Arsenal may have tripped on a new perfect role for Martin Odegaard while he was out of the bench and changed the game against Newcastle United this weekend.
Odegaard was above all an extremely important player for the Gunners, but he is not entirely in his best in the past year for various reasons.
The Norwegian international had some injury problems at the start of last season, and does not seem so effective in the Arsenal team while Bukayo Saka was injured, because the pair was so often connected.
Now, however, Odegaard has shown that he could play in the role of deeper midfielder, Jamie Carragher analyzing his impact on Newcastle.

Odegaard came out of the bench in this match and ended up playing in the deep role of Martin Zubimenddi, and Carragher felt that he was “fantastic” and had a big impact on the game.
“But in fact, what was really interesting is that Oldaard found himself deeper,” said Carragher.
“Zubimendi was released. He (Odegaard) entered this deeper role and was fantastic and changed the game. ”
Arsenal has more options now
This is something that Arsenal can now start a game without players like Odegaard and always turn off such a strong line.
The arrival of Ebelechi Eze was essential for the AFC, which gives them more a natural number 10 than Older was probably.
This means that Oncegaard can now rest a little more, but can also play a little deeper and dictate the game without necessarily being counted as the main man to create most of the team’s chances and contribute to a high number of objectives and aid.
Players like Zubimenddi and Mikel Merino also give Arsenal other interesting and different options to configure their midfielder.
