Marissa Bode, Marlee Matlin, Nyle Dimarco will be honored at the Media Access Awards

The star of “Wicked” Marissa Bode, the winner of an Oscar Marlee Matlin and “Sura President now!” Documentarians Nyle Dimarco and David Guggenheim will be among the winners of the media access awards of this year.
The prices, awarded with eastersals, distinct artists, storytellers and stories that defend the inclusion of disability.
Additional winners will include actor Anita Hollander, writers Liz Meriwether, Kim Rosenstock, Sasha Stewart and Keisha Zollar, reality TV animators Jay Manuel and Pamela Manuel and Casting Directors Paul Schnee and Kerry Barden.
The ceremony, which will be held on October 8 in Los Angeles, will have its debut on November 5 on PBS Socal Plus.
“This year’s winners reflect the extent of the creatives who advance cultural discourse and inclusion on both sides of the camera,” said Prix Régiser and Co-PDG Allen Rucker.
Executive producer and CO-PDG Deborah Calla added: “It is an incredible honor to bring together the screen community to celebrate the revolutionary achievements of the representation of disability.”
The actress and activist Ali Stroker will welcome the ceremony and the presenters will include Henry Winkler, Esco Jouléy, Nic Novicki, Cesily Collette Taylor, John Maurere and Amber Sealyly, with additional special messages from Lily D. Moore and Jenny Slater.
Sag-aftra president Sean Astin will present the Harold Russell Prix from the Guild to Hollander during the event. “Our Sag-Aftra team is delighted to honor Anita Hollander with the Harold Russell Prize at this year’s media access awards,” Astin said. “The remarkable advocacy, leadership and creativity have inspired so much, and it is a privilege to celebrate her contributions. We are proud to highlight his incredible achievements and talents. ”
The show will also present Luca “Lazylegs” Patuelli, Brian King Joseph,, Rick Allen (Def Leppard) and Lauren Monroe and more surprise guests.
After the first of November 5 on PBS Socal Plus, the program will broadcast on November 7 on PBS Socal proper, then the PBS stations of the country from November 15. Viewers can broadcast the program on the PBS application simultaneously with the first.
