Mariners Up Next for Rhp Brandon Woodruff, Brewers Strike

Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but the Brewers of Milwaukee have not lost since the law Brandon Woodruff returned to their rotation.
The Brewers won their 10th consecutive match on Sunday, beating the host Los Angeles Dodgers 6-5 to participate in equality with the Chicago Cubs at the top of the Central Division of the National League.
Woodruff (1-0, 2.61 ERA) will try to help the Brewers extend this sequence when he takes the mound on Monday evening in Seattle in the opening of a three-game interligue series.
“It’s just great to find him,” said Brewers outfall, Christian Yelich, about Woodruff. “One of the best competitors I have ever played. In the past eight years, if I could choose someone to start a big match for us, I would choose Big Woo, hands down.”
All-star twice (2019, 2021), Woodruff underwent surgery on his right shoulder at the end of the 2023 season and missed all 2024.
His return this year was delayed by a pair of injuries suffered during stays in rehabilitation of minor leagues. The first was tendonitis with a right ankle and the second came after taking a return of 108 mi / h to its right elbow.
Woodruff made its season debut on July 6 and beat Miami 3-1, granting one point on two strokes in six rounds, to trigger the current Milwaukee sequence. He withdrew 10 in 4 1/3 innings during his first departure at home on July 12 against Washington in a match that the Brewers rallied late to win 6-5.
“I cheated on them a little, I suppose,” said Woodruff. “Speed will come, and believe me, I pay attention here because the radar pistol is right in front of your face. You cannot see it. Honestly, do what I did in the minor leagues and have to toder with lower speeds really helped me here.
“The circumstances have led me to this point. I don’t know when it will click, but I say it every year: when it is.
The navies managed a sequence of five consecutive victories on Sunday with a defeat of 11-3 against Houston.
If the navy had swept the series, they would have shot in the two games of the Astros of the division in the American League West.
The Mariners manager Dan Wilson refused to call this a missed opportunity.
“I wouldn’t say that,” said Wilson. “It was a day when we took an early advance, but they came back. Offensively, they played what they are doing normally and obtained some circuits to help this. But apart from that, it is an offense that likes to do this and that is what they did today.
“But overall, as I said, we took the series and started another series (Monday),” he added.
The Mariners JP Crawford Marine stop, whose error helped trigger Houston’s return from a 3-0 deficit, in disagreement with his manager.
“These matches are important,” said Crawford. “But you have to continue. I have a good team. I have to prepare myself for them.”
The navies should start the right-hander George Kirby (4-4, 4.50) in the opening of the series. Kirby, who missed the start of the season with inflammation of the right shoulder, has won his last three departures.
Woodruff and Kirby will face their opponent for the first time in their careers.
