Mariners to host a card program before Tuesday’s game against Padres

What could be better than a game between two contenders during the heat of the pennant race?

What would you say about a crucial game that presents a pre-match cards program, taking place against one of the most picturesque decorations in baseball?

The Seattle Mariners will organize their third annual card show Tuesday evening before their match against the Padres of San Diego. Not only are the two teams involved in tight division races (the paadres drag the dodgers by a match in the NL West, while the navies are two at the back of the Astros in the west), but the first Trophy of the Vedder Cup is also at stake for the two rivals of the west coast.

The event will start when the doors open and pass until the end of the third round.

Western Washington souvenir sellers were invited to present their goods on the roof on the roof of T-Mobile Park, a place at the western end of level 300 which has a breathtaking view of the Elliott bay and the city center of Seattle.

Alexa Olague, the director of sales development of the navy, said that the idea of ​​the program had been initially developed by some collectors passionate about her team. “We just have collectors in our sales team who thought it could be fun to bring a card broadcast at the stadium, so we decided to take this and run with it,” said Olague. “We have sort of exploded it in recent years and added promotional items to also support it.”

This year’s article, which is included in the purchase of a special event ticket, could not have been better timed while the team gives a pin representing the famous home swing of Cal Raleigh which sealed the room in the Mariners eliminations in 2022 with a victory.

With Raleigh leading the majors in Home Runs with 47, the limited edition spindle is sure to be in great demand.

“We actually chose this for a long time ago, so we were lucky with being CAL and with this one year explosion he had.”

“We had fans who hit larger cards,” said Olague. “It’s fun because you can see the type of hobby explode at the stadium in real life.”

Although the show has certainly includes many marine cards and collectibles from other Seattle teams, Olaague has said that non -sporting cards will also be on display, a TCG supplier that should present Pokémon and other games.

The Voltner of the Mariners Julio Rodriguez and the Gregory Santos lift are both passionate anime collectors, but do not expect to see players navigate the show.

“I think if they could, they would certainly do it,” said Olague. “But since the show does not start before opening the doors – so 90 minutes before (first land) – it is probably difficult for them to climb up up there. But maybe it could be fun to have them interact in the future.”
