Marcello Hernández and Skyler Gisondo Join “Shrek 5” as Shrek Sons

Marcello Hernández and Skyler Gisondo are the latest additions to the Shrek5 voice casting.
THE Saturday evening live star and Superman The actor is set to play Shrek’s sons Fergus and Farkle in the upcoming film, with the DreamWorks Animation project’s Instagram account sharing the news on Thanksgiving morning.
In a video post, Hernández and Gisondo were shown getting into character, with Hernández even donning green body paint to channel his role as the offspring of an ogre.
“I might have gone a little too far,” Hernández wrote, as he shared photos of himself in his Shrek best.
Gisondo, who shared a photo of himself wearing a Shrek hat, advised Hernández via text: “Dude, they look amazing, but you know we’re just doing the voices, right?

Hernández, known for his role in SNLalso appeared in Merry Gilmore 2 And Die for sex.
Gisondo played Jimmy Olsen in James Gunn’s Superman reboot for Warner Bros. and his credits also include Licorice pizza, Booksmart, Holidays, Precious Stones And Santa Clarita Diet. He is also set to play the son of Ben Stiller and Teri Polo’s characters, as well as the fiancé of Ariana Grande’s character, in the upcoming fourth film. Meet the parents movie, Son-in-law.
Universal Pictures is about to release Shrek5 on June 30, 2027. Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz are all set to reprise their voice roles as Shrek, Donkey and Fiona. Zendaya also joined the cast as Felicia, Shrek and Fiona’s daughter.
Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn are set to direct Shrek5with Minions: The Rise of Gru co-director Brad Ableson. Vernon directed Shrek2 And Madagascar 2 and is familiar to audiences as the voice of Gingerbread Man in the Shrek movies. Dohrn worked as a writer on the second and third Shrek films and served as story lead on the fourth film. He also lent his voice to the franchise as Rumpelstiltskin.
Shrek forever producer Gina Shay and Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri will produce Shrek5.
The nearly 25-year-old franchise, which also spawned two Puss in Boots starring Antonio Banderas, grossed nearly $3 billion at the worldwide box office. The first film, released in 2001, won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film.
Talk to The Hollywood Reporter about revisiting his role as Donkey for Shrek5Murphy said: “I always said I would Shrek forever. Donkey is a great character to play. I love the whole cast. So I was excited when people said, “Hey, they’re doing another one,” and they also want to do one with Donkey. I’m totally into it. I arrive too hot, at each vocal session.
