Manchester United remain in the race to sign Antoine Semenyo

Manchester United remain firmly in the race to sign Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo, although Liverpool and Manchester City are both pushing for his signature.
That’s according to the latest from Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas and Rob Dorsett who share the latest on the much-talked-about transfer saga.
Several Premier League clubs are interested in signing Semenyo during the January transfer window.
Liverpool were previously considered favorites, with reports suggesting the Reds have already opened formal talks with Bournemouth.
It has also been claimed that Liverpool have agreed personal terms with Semenyo, matching an offer already made by Manchester City, who are also said to have terms in place.
Arsenal have also been linked with the Ghana international, although reports indicate the Gunners may have to offload players before making a formal decision.
Manchester United remain in the race for Antoine Semenyo
Manchester United’s interest in Semenyo is not new. The Red Devils reportedly saw an approach turned down by the player last summer, after which he signed a new contract with Bournemouth.
Despite this setback, United did not escape and would remain serious contenders in the race.
According to Sky Sports, Pep Guardiola’s side are leading the race to land him, but Man United are ‘firmly in the race’.
Ruben Amorim is actively targeting a new striker in January, and Old Trafford believe triggering Semenyo’s £65million release clause is an opportunity worth considering.
However, finances remain a significant obstacle. Sky Sports reports that spending £65million mid-season could have serious repercussions for Manchester United’s summer transfer plans.
Semenyo could be a great signing for Manchester United
Semenyo would undoubtedly be a great addition. The 26-year-old recently demonstrated his quality against United, scoring in Bournemouth’s 4-4 draw at Old Trafford on Monday evening.
Across all competitions this season, Semenyo has recorded seven goals and three assists in 16 appearances, underlining his growing influence at Premier League level.
One of its greatest strengths is its versatility. Semenyo is capable of playing as a central striker, on either wing or in advanced midfield roles, consistently providing goal contributions from multiple positions.
Although previous reports suggest the player might prefer a move to Liverpool, his future remains open.
Whether Semenyo will eventually join Arne Slot’s Liverpool or move on to either Manchester club should become clearer as the January window approaches.
