Manchester City is ready to sanction an outing for Ederson – if they sign Gianluigi Donnarumma as its replacement.

Paris Saint-Germain, the current club of Italy International, expects Donnarumma to move to the Etihad stadium before the transfer date on Monday.

Brazil International Ederson is a target for Fenerbahce in a potential agreement worth 14 million euros (12.1 million pounds sterling) during the hours of the summer window.

Ederson joined City in June 2017 in a transfer of 35 million sterling pounds from the Portuguese team Benfica. He made 372 appearances for the club, keeping 168 clean leaves.

He had a sparkling career in the northwest, winning the Premier League six times in eight seasons and helping the club win the Champions League for the first time in 2023.

If a movement is progressing, Donnarumma would follow James Trafford as a goal of goalkeepers this summer after the international in England under 21 joined Burnley in July.

Donnarumma was excluded from the Luis Enrique team for the European victory of the Super Cup against Tottenham Hotspur in Udine in August.

Luis Enrique had previously revealed that the club had wanted a “profile of a different goal” and signed the International France Lucas Chevalier de Lille.

“These are still difficult decisions to make,” said Luis Enrique about the decision to omit Donnarumma from his match team. “I can certainly talk about Gigio because he is one of the best players in his position, without a doubt. He is even better as a person. We are looking for a different guardian profile from Donnarumma. It is always difficult to make the decision in this kind of situations.”

Last season, Donnarumma saved two penalties at the end of the Ragd of the Champions League of PSG against Liverpool, to send the French champions on their first victory in the European Cup.

This marked a resumption of form after being at fault for two arsenal goals in the previous league phase which left PSG vulnerable to its elimination.

He made a total of 161 appearances for the Paris club since his arrival, keeping 56 clean leaves. Last season, he played 47 times, including each match of the World Cup of clubs while PSG reached the summer final, despite a face injury in December.

The 26 -year -old joined PSG in 2021 AC Milan, after being on the Italian side since 2013 as a young player.

Donnarumma has made 74 senior international appearances for Italy since its beginnings at 17 years in 2017. He capitalized on the national team of their delayed European championship in 2021, beating England in the penalties and winning the tournament player prize.
