Manchester City reaches the agreement of 55 million euros to sign Milan Tijjani Reijnders midfielder

Manchester City concluded an agreement worth 55 million euros (46.3 million pounds sterling) plus additional modules with Milan to sign the midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.

Athletics reported earlier in May that City contacted Milan to express his interest in signing the 26 -year -old, who concluded a five -year agreement at Etihad.

The talks have stayed in progress with a club agreement at club now made so that the Reijnders join the Pep Guardiola team.

The Dutch international only recently renewed his contract at Serie A until 2030.

Reijnders had an impressive season for Milan, scoring 15 goals in all competitions and was elected midfielder of the year.

The release of Kevin de Bruyne leaves City with a hole to fill in the middle of the field even after having reinforced their options in the winter transfer window with the signature of Nico Gonzalez de Porto.

They will be helped by the return of Rodri, the winner of the Ballon d’Or, who made his return from a long ligament to the anterior cross ligament (ACL) for the penultimate match of the Premier League campaign.

Reijnders joined Milan de Az in 2023 and signed a new agreement which takes place until 2030 in March.

It has been crowned 22 times in the Netherlands since its beginnings in 2023 and was part of the team that reached the semi-finals of the 2024 European Championship.

“ Reijnders has a mixture of characteristics to excite fans of the city ”

Analysis of the Manchester City Sam Lee correspondent

Looking at the Reijnders play, you must conclude that he would look at the house in the midfield of the city.

As much as he learned looking at Kevin de Bruyne, his style of play is more a cross between Bernardo Silva and that of Ilkay Gundogan.

Reijnders, although not particularly stubborn defensively, have an exciting mixture of characteristics on the ball which should excite fans of the city.

He is a player capable of assigning a game in all fields of the field: first of all, he is very comfortable receiving from his goalkeeper, a must for the construction of the city, and he is generally the depths of Milan’s deepest field ready to get on the ball, rather than a complement to a maintenance midfield.

Against particularly pressing teams, City can use Gundogan, for example, to fall deeply and help Rodri, but expect that he also mounts the field with the game, contributing even in the last third, and it is something that Reijnders does a lot.

As a player who can dictate the tempo of a game via a few different methods – short and fast passes, transport or off -ball races – that makes him an ideal candidate to contribute to the city game across the midfield.
