Man utd women 1 – 1 chelsea women

The 100% Chelsea record in Barclays WSL this season ended when they played an entertaining 1-1 draw against Manchester United.
It took until December for Chelsea to abandon points in the League last mandate, but they faced an impressive UTD man, who benefits from the summer arrivals of Julia Zigiotti Olme, Jess Park and Frida Rolfo.
Marc Skinner’s team had not yet taken place in a WSL match this season, but this race also ended while Wieke Kaptein returned home in 10 minutes.
It was a great team decision that also installed her, including a sumptuous rear heel of Catarina Macario while she was holding Dominique Janssen on her back.
But the man UTD – who had drawn two early stops from Hannah Hampton – retaliated shortly after. It was an amazing strike by Anna Sandberg while a Mayan Tinner Cross was erased on her way. She then struck a thunderous volley in front of Hampton for her first UTD goal.
While the first half was a rather uniform affair, the pendulum tilted between the two parties throughout the second which ended without more goals.
The man UTD dominated very early while Rolfo made an effort on the top of the crossbar and replacing him Melvine Malard also got closer to a few efforts.
At the other end, Alyssa Thompson tested the Tullis-Joyce phallon, which also late an effort placed by Keira Walsh. Aggie Beever -Jones – ending her own score sequence in each WSL match so far this season – could also have won him in injury time, but could not convert the Thompson cross to the rear post.
Although their perfect record is finished, Chelsea remains two points from the UTD man at the top of the table, the two sides always undefeated this season.
Bompastor disturbed about the end of the winning race
Chélat chief Sonia Bompastor: “I do not care about our undefeated race. The only thing that works is to make sure that we get the good results this season to win the title, if possible.
“I think it was a fun game to watch and it’s a good ad for the female game.
“I am a little frustrated by the result because we want to play every match to win them.
“We couldn’t have tonight. I think we were a better team in the second half, especially without the ball and we tried until the end of the match. I am so proud of my players that they tried until the end to score.
“As much as we have the desire to win every match, I think that may not be a bad result to come here, to play in Manchester, one of the most difficult places to play and get a draw.”
Skinner has “disappointed” not to win but says that the point is a fair result
Man utd chief Marc Skinner said BBC Sport:: “These are two teams who wanted to win the match, a high level with and without the ball.
“This is probably a right point at the end, but it was not for the lack of two teams that try to win it. It is a very good game for the neutral point and a shared point is probably the right result.
“It was the most courageous performance. We build. You can see it, you can feel it.
“We are disappointed not to win the match. The chances that we have created, few teams could create this against Chelsea, so for us to do it and how we did it, it was credit for them [the players].
“The goal we have conceded that we will not be satisfied. We will take stock, we will move forward and take advantage of growth while we head to our first week of the Champions League.”
By exceeding a marker for a title race: “We will make sure that we do it in all other games as best we can. We will give absolutely everything.
“It shows Chelsea, they will not only walk the league. We must make sure that everyone challenges. I think the league is improving and you have seen the quality this evening that we are progressing too.”
Park: We want to win these matches
Man utd midfielder Jess Park said BBC Sport: “We played very well, just like Chelsea. It was a brilliant game. There were times when we could have taken the lead, we just need to be a little more clinical and a little cleaner with the ball.
“But there were times when we defended with it brilliantly … We are going to take the draw but we want to win these matches.
“We really competed, we wanted to show that we can compete. Obviously, it is frustrating because we wanted to win the victory. We never want to be satisfied with a draw.”
By potentially being suitors for the title: “We are always trying to win every match we play. You can see how creative we are on the field. We create moments, we just need to put them in bed
