Man Utd scouts spotted eyeing Real Madrid target tracking Mbappe

Eyeing reinforcements in early 2026, Manchester United have now reportedly sent scouts to monitor an impressive striker following Kylian Mbappe this season.
What Man Utd need in January
Although it’s still only October, this looks to be an important January transfer window for Man United. The Red Devils have once again got off to a poor start in the Premier League – having won just twice in seven matches – and further reinforcements are clearly needed.
Given that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has publicly backed Ruben Amorim, INEOS must walk the talk and back the former Sporting Club manager again when the winter window opens. The big question is who they will target to do just that.
Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz and Elche’s David Affengruber have already been rumored, but it remains to be seen whether those at Old Trafford will follow through on their interest in 2026.
Yildiz would be a particularly impressive signing. The versatile winger has been Juventus’ main man for the past 12 months and is still only 20 years old. His arrival wouldn’t come cheap, but it’s one United should do everything they can to secure next year.
Affengruber, meanwhile, would be a smart deal. The central defender represents the type of underrated player INEOS should pursue if they want to avoid spending big while landing a gem.
La Liga could also be where it’s at for such talent, with reports now suggesting United have sent scouts to monitor an impressive striker ahead of January.
Man Utd send scouts to monitor Etta Eyong
As reported by TeamTalk, Man United scouts have now been spotted monitoring Karl Etta Eyong this season. The 21-year-old has had an excellent campaign so far, with Barcelona and Real Madrid also considering joining the Red Devils.
Having recently joined Levante from Villarreal, a January move seems unlikely, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t one to watch next summer. In just eight La Liga matches, the striker has scored five goals and assisted three others. To put into context how impressive this is, Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe has managed 11 goals in the same number of matches.
Hailed for an “incredible” season so far by scout Jacek Kulig, the future is certainly bright for Etta Eyong. Whether that future includes a move to Old Trafford, however, is another question entirely.
Facing Real Madrid and Barcelona in the race for his signature, the Red Devils will have to take the first step as soon as possible.
