Man Utd had the original mainstream that Bruno loved

In what was a year to forget for the Manchester United Football Club, Captain Bruno Fernandes endured an unforgettable season at a personal level – producing many moments of magic despite the team failures.
The Portuguese international has accumulated a total of 37 goals combined and aid in all competitions – by far the largest total of all members of the first team team.
However, he could not catapult the team from Ruben Amorim to any form of success, while the Red Devils put an end to the first League 2024/25 campaign at a meager 15th place.
The first team desperately needed reinforcements during the summer, which the board of directors provided with Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo.
Despite the additions in the advanced areas, a new midfielder was desperately necessary, adding more quality to the team – but also pushing another talent in the hierarchical order.
The future of Kobbie Mainoo in Manchester United
During the 2023/24 campaign, the graduate of the Kobbie Mainsoo academy was a breath of fresh air on the United side – appearing in key moments in his breakthrough campaign in Old Trafford.
The 20 -year -old scored several times that year, including a last -minute winner against the Wolves – before suspending the crucial effort of the final triumph of the FA Cup against his rivals Manchester City.
However, lately, English has fought for a coherent action, starting only 19 times last season, with minutes even more difficult to find with this campaign.
Mainoo did not start a single championship match in 2025/26, with its only outing to come in the embarrassing defeat of the second round of the Carabao Cup against Grimsby Town.
He spoke of wanting to leave his childhood club lately to save precious playing time elsewhere – but his request was refused, then needing to fight for his place in the side.
Such a situation was disappointing for the player and the club, with a necessary resolution, but they may have made a mistake by allowing a former young person to leave.
The former United Star who was the original mainstream
The hunt for United for a new midfielder was obvious during the summer transfer window, targeting many talents throughout Europe to offer new quality in the middle of the park.
Bruno, who is mainly an offensive midfielder, was forced to operate in a deeper role in this campaign – especially after the arrivals of Cunha and Mbeumo in number ten positions.
Hopefully that such a decision does not remove the figures he produced last season, which already removed the brand with his last minute penalty against Burnley last weekend.
However, a new partner next to him has been desperately necessary lately, potentially making an error by allowing the former young James Garner to leave the club.
The Portuguese international previously praised English, calling it “good player” after the Red Devils pre-season tour in 2021.
He crossed the levels of youth to Old Trafford, just like Mainoo, but would only make seven appearances in the first team – with his spells far from the club pushing him to celebrity.
Garner would spend 18 months on loan to Nottingham Forest, attracting attention with his box-to-box displays, recording eight goals and 10 assists on his two distinct loan spells on the city of the city.
He subsequently helped the Reds to obtain a promotion in the Premier League in 2022, in a spell that would attract the side of a team that was already taking out their profession in England.
The 24 -year -old joined Everton on a permanent basis for a first £ 9 million in the summer of 2022, Erik Ten Hag not seeing the player in his plans – the Toffees doing business given his form on the Merseyside in the last two seasons.

Garner has since made 88 appearances for the Toffees, presenting his versatility, operating in the middle of the park, as well as the right back, but still in full swing despite the unnatural role.
He scored his first goal of the new season in recent weeks, with his beautiful strike from the outside of the box, ensuring the Toffees a victory during their first outing at the Hill Dickinson stadium.
The costs of 9 million pounds sterling now seem too cheap, given its recent success far from Old Trafford, potentially able to cement its place to the Amorim team if he had stayed at the club.
We cannot deny that he was the original Mainso, moving through the club’s youth levels, but ultimately, their loss is Everton’s gain – with Bruno missing next to English.
