The star of the Squid Game Lee Byung-Hun says that the series final looks like a “start”

Note: This story contains spoilers of season 3 of “Squid Game”, episode 5.
From the first episode of “Squid Game”, the star of the lee Byung-Hun series was impressed by the originality of the Thriller of the director Hwang Dong-Hyuk. But even if he knows how to expect the unexpected, Lee was still shocked by the final of the Netflix drama series.
“Usually, when you read a script, when you get to the last episode, you know in a way how it will end. But when I read it in` Squid Game ”, I was shocked. I was surprised to read an end that I think no one could wait or predict, “Lee told Thewrap. “I am personally satisfied with the way it ended. On the other hand, I have the impression that it is so nuanced that he almost has the impression that it is also a start. ”
It remains to be seen this potential beginning. Season 3 is officially the last season of the Hwang World Thriller. Lee admitted that he had joked with Hwang to do a season 4. Although this was unlikely, the pair has more seriously talked about telling other stories in the world of “squid game”.
“In the interviews, and also when it is only us, he was talking about telling these stories. He is quite open to stories on the front, the recruiter and then the masked guards and how he thinks that they are stories deserve to be told,” said Lee. “So as I said to [‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’]Nothing is decided or concrete. But I think that director Hwang looks more at the positive. »»
Regarding the “squid game”, almost all parts of this Netflix original are tense and overwhelming. But one of the most loaded scenes in the whole series occurs in season 3 between Lee’s front and Gi-Hun by Lee Jung-Jae.
After Gi-Hun reinstated the squid match in season 2, he quickly got friends with Hwang In-Ho, a man who would have contributed to earn money to repay his wife’s medical debt. The two have become very close, with a Han being accepted in the inner circle of Gi-Hun. Gi-Hun even trusted H-Ho to tell him about his plan to overthrow the guards. When In-Ho disappears in the middle of the fighting, Gi-Hun supposes that he was only another player who was killed in the cross fires. But in episode 5, In-Ho reveals that it was the front from the start from the start, the man leading the whole Calmar game who murdered Gi-Hun’s best friend to teach him a lesson.
After having brushed the rage of Gi-Hun, in-ho offers his old ally a new game when they meet in season, episode 5. He gives a knife to Gi-Hun and tells him that if he murdered all the remaining players in their sleep, he and the baby can escape with their life. Unbeknownst to Gi-Hun, it was the same challenge that was presented to In-Ho when he participated in the Calmar game years ago.

“This action has a lot of different meanings. First, because he is reflected in Gi-Hun, he has a certain attachment or affection for Gi-Hun, and, in this sense, he wanted to give Gi-Hun a chance. This, even if they have gone through similar circumstances, “said Lee. “I think that part of him wanted Gi-Hun to continue to keep his beliefs so that [In-ho] could start to believe that there can be hope in the world again.
“It’s very superimposed. There are a lot of complex emotions in this scene, that’s why, as an actor, I was really looking forward to shooting this scene. I had a lot of fun with that,” added Lee.
By competing together in the games and facing the same challenge, Lee considers the relationship between these two men as more intertwined and complicated than ever. “I believe that Gi-Hun influenced the man from the front, and the man from the front also influenced Gi-Hun. What I wanted to portray through his character development is that I wanted the man before looks almost like something in him triggered, perhaps the last ribbon of humanity which was sort of hidden deep in him. [Gi-hun’s refusal to kill] Shook him, “said Lee.” Once the series is over, I wanted the public to think that the front-man may now live with a new or different set of values. “”
“Squid Game” is now in difficulty on Netflix.
