The former Bundesliga striker and expertise in football Jan Aage Fjørtoft expressed skepticism concerning recent reports connecting the director of Crystal Palace, Oliver Glasner, with a move to Manchester United.

Despite assembly speculation, Fjørtoft believes that Glasner will remain with Palace for the moment, preferring to wait a more attractive offer rather than jump in the first chance.

Glasner would be one of the candidates on Man United to replace Ruben Amorim if the Red Devils decide to separate by the Portuguese manager.

Having taken a disastrous start to the season that saw them being beaten by Arsenal, Grimsby Town and Manchester City, Amorim faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford.

Oliver Glasner impressed Crystal Palace

Glasner resumed the reins of Crystal Palace in February 2024. Under his direction, the Eagles showed signs of clear improvement, winning the FA Cup and the Shield Community this year by beating Manchester City and Liverpool respectively.

According to Fjørtoft, Glasner is likely to adopt a patient position. He thinks that the Austrian coach will expect an opportunity that not only meets his criteria better, but also justifies leaving Palace.

“Wouldn’t that be great if Guehi says that if Glasner leaves, I’m leaving?” He can reverse it now ”, Fjortoft joked ESPN FC (47:45).

“But I don’t think Glasner will go for Manchester United.

“He will wait and he will be patient.”

Glasner is one of the best managers in England at the moment and interest should increase the best clubs in its services.

He took a club in crisis at the major silverware and continues to keep the competitive palace despite the loss of key players due to larger clubs each year.

Palace lost Michael Olise against Bayern Munich last summer. This summer, they lost Ebelechi Eze in Arsenal and who knows what the future has in store for us for Marc Guehi, who was strongly linked to a move to Liverpool.

The main architect of the success of the palace is Glasner and he will not run for offers in the near future.
