Man United vs Brighton live: full Premier League line-ups

Manchester United are aiming for three consecutive Premier League wins when Brighton & Hove Albion travel to Old Trafford on Saturday.

The hosts won 2-1 at Liverpool last Sunday and victory would put Ruben Amorim’s side level on points with Manchester City, who started the day in second position.

Brighton are unbeaten in five matches in all competitions and are one point behind United after the Seagulls’ 2-1 home win over Newcastle last Saturday.

Man United vs Brighton line-ups

Defender Harry Maguire, who headed the winner in the 84th minute against the Reds, misses. Mason Mount is suitable enough for a spot on the bench. Lenny Yoro replaces Maguire, while Benjamin Sesko returns to the XI up front.

Centre-back Lisandro Martinez is not yet ready to return from a long-term knee injury for United, while wide player Noussair Mazraoui returned to the bench at Anfield after being a doubt.

“He trained very well,” Amorim said of Martinez, who is recovering from a long-term knee injury. “He was on the next pitch and I was watching him.

“He’s training very well, the knee is fine but I don’t want to talk about a specific week [for his return] and then it depends on Licha, if he wins the place.

Man United starting XI: Mother, Yoro, The Ligt, Shaw, Diallo, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot, Mbeumo, Cunha, Sesco.

Man United substitutes: Bayindir, Mazraoui, Circumcision, Dorgu, Malac, Ugart, Sky, Mount, Mainoo

Line-ups for Brighton vs Manchester United

Midfielder Diego Gomez is fit for Brighton after being withdrawn through injury in the win over Newcastle. He is on the bench, with Maxim De Cuyper taking his place.

Full-back Joel Veltman, winger Kaoru Mitoma and forward Brajan Gruda were all doubts, but centre-back Adam Webster, versatile Jack Hinshelwood and forward Solly March remain sidelined.

Former United striker Danny Welbeck scored both goals against the Magpies and Albion manager Fabian Hurzeler said he was “sure” England manager Thomas Tuchel would have watched the 34-year-old’s performance.

“I’m happy to see England progressing well with Thomas and I’m sure he will make the right decisions,” Hurzeler replied when asked about a possible recall from the Three Lions for Welbeck. “Let’s see what he decides about Danny.”

Analyzing United’s approach, Hurzeler suggested the Red Devils play “a more direct and vertical style”.

“They play longer balls trying to target [Benjamin] Sesko, he goes with a lot of players for the second ball, tries to win the second ball and then continues on his wings, to try to attack the box with a lot of deep runs,” he added.

“Each of their players, especially in attack, can decide the match in a single action. All their players have great individual quality and are therefore always a danger for us.

“We have to be vigilant for 90 minutes, it doesn’t matter if you’re in possession, out of possession or if it’s a set piece for us or against us, because they can score in every phase. That makes them so dangerous.”

Brighton starting XI: Verbruggen, Wieffer, Van Hecke, Dunk, Kadioglu, Baleba, Ayari, Minteh, Rutter, De Cuyper, Welbeck.

Brighton substitutes: Steele, Tzimas, Watson, Kostoulas, Milner, Boscagli, Gomez, Coppola, Oriola
