Man United star Joshua Zirkzee wanted by AS Roma in January

AS Roma are reportedly preparing a January swoop for Joshua Zirkzee, with the Manchester United forward becoming a loan target to bolster the Giallorossi’s forward line.
Roma view the 24-year-old as a very interesting option who can add mobility, link-up play and goals during the second half of the season, according to The Sun.
Zirkzee, who is yet to start a competitive match for United this season, has long been admired in Serie A following his remarkable spell at Bologna before his move to Old Trafford.
With United set to hold talks with the Netherlands international ahead of the winter window, a mid-season move is firmly on the table.
Joshua Zirkzee succeeded in Serie A
In Serie A with Bologna, he refined the art of playing with his back to goal while stretching the back lines, qualities which translate well to Roma’s style of play.
For Zirkzee, the return to Italy provides continuity in a league where he has already proven his effectiveness and gained a reputation, something that has impressed Man United who signed him specifically for those reasons.
However, following Benjamin Sesko’s arrival at the club, Zirkzee has struggled to gain playing time and in a season where most players are looking to get maximum minutes in order to prepare for next year’s World Cup, Zirkzee is reportedly considering a move away from Old Trafford.
If Zirkzee continues to sit behind the established options and opportunities remain limited, a loan move can serve all purposes, the player gets back into rhythm and form and if he impresses, United can offload him for a decent transfer fee in the future.
Man United striker seeks more playing time

There is also the lure of Serie A. Zirkzee’s solid two-season spell at Bologna has left suitors in Italy convinced he can make a difference at the top of the table.
The links with other Italian clubs are not surprising given his track record. But Roma appear ready to move early, making Zirkzee a priority if conditions are feasible.
With talks expected before the window opens, all eyes will be on whether the clubs can reach an agreement on the transfer and offer the player what he needs, namely playing opportunities.
