Nascar’s veteran, Kevin Kidd, jumps to Stellantis to direct the NHRA PUSH of Dodge and Ram’s Truck Series Return

Dodge and Ram have undergone a major change because Stellantis, their parent company, appointed Kevin Kidd its director of the North American competition. He will supervise the drag and vans programs and direct the return of RAM to the Nascar truck series and the push of the NHRA of Stellantis.

Stellantis’ truck brand announced its return Nascar in June of this year with a racing truck Concept RAM 1500. The truck made its debut in Michigan International Speedway and, in August, revealed a new partnership with Kaulig Racing. The team is now ready to fuel five entries in the Craftsman Truck 2026 series season.

Kidd, who has worked as team manager, team leader and racing engineer for more than two decades, also spent five years at the NASCAR competition advisory committee. He holds a mechanical engineering diploma by Virginia Tech and an MBA of MIT Sloan.

Stellantis stacked his role so he is Tom Sacoman and coordinates with Kaulig Racing, the NHRA team of Nascar’s legend, Tony Stewart, Tony Stewart Racing and Direct Connection Engineering.

RAM will return as a supported brand in the factory for the first time since 2012, because Kaulig Racing will add a third national series to its operations. The team will base truck operations from its existing installations and add staff and properties near Welcome, in North Carolina. Kaulig has not yet announced his driver for the five truck entries. RAM participated for the last time in the series of trucks until 2012 and won titles in 2004 and 2005. Now, it is part of the Stelllantis group, which also includes brands like Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep.
