Man United offered a South American “world class”, but Move hits the hanging for a reason
Manchester United would have offered the possibility of signing Douglas Luiz in an exchange agreement involving Brazilian striker Antony.
Antony was linked to a permanent release of Manchester United after his successful loan fate at Real Betis. Juventus wanted to ensure its signature, and they were ready to offer to the former star of Aston Villa in exchange.
Director Change Scuppers Move
Luiz previously showed his capacity in English football, and he was exceptional for Aston Villa. He was labeled as a “world class” player by John McGinn in the past. The opportunity to sign it in exchange for Antony could have been ideal for the Red Devils.
However, this decision has now struck a hook after the departure of Cristiano Giuntoli. The former director of Juventus left the club and was replaced by Damien Comolli. According to Fabrizio Romano on GMS, the two clubs had talks about the potential swap agreement.
GiUntoli wanted to improve Juventus’ attack unit with Antony’s signing. It has been exceptional for real Betis in recent months. There is no doubt that it would have been a quality acquisition for the Italian club. Leaving Manchester United permanently would also have been ideal for the player.
As for Luiz, he has not been at his best in recent months. A return to his comfort zone could have been ideal for him. He played his best football in the Premier League with Aston Villa.

Manchester United needs more defensive coverage and control in the middle of the park, and the Brazilian could have been the ideal acquisition. He is at the top of his powers, and he could have established himself as an important player for Manchester United.
