Manchester United would be among the clubs showing an interest in the potential transfer of the central midfielder in Barcelona, Frenkie de Jong.
The Dutch international shone during his stay at Barça, but he arrives towards the end of his contract, which makes him a free agent next summer.
It seems that Man Utd and others wanted to take advantage of the situation, the Fichajes call them and Bayern as two clubs which have established initial informal contacts on the potential agreement.
De Jong may well be tempted by a scene change, so maybe he will not renew his agreement and this could open the way to a move to United.
Manchester United needs a midfielder like Frenkie de Jong
De Jong ticks many boxes for United – it is a clear upgrade of what they currently have in the midfield, it is always at its peak, and he would bring the experience and the mentality of someone who won many major trophies.
However, the 28 -year -old may well promote someone like Bayern at the moment, because he is not yet clear in what type of situation United will be in the next summer.
The Red Devils are currently not playing in any European competition, and it remains to be seen if they will be realistic in the running to do so next season.
Bayern, on the other hand, will be almost certainly in the Champions League and would be able to offer De Jong a realistic chance to win major trophies.
That said, if De Jong wants to make sure that he regularly starts matches, then MUFC could be the safer movement from this point of view because they surely build their midfielder around him immediately.
We also understand that the Al Hilal Ruben Neves midfielder is another united target in the middle of the park.
