Man United falls behind his rivals in the breed of Dusan Vlahovic

Manchester United’s planning of Forward from Manchester this summer has been inspired intense.

After having invested massively in the attack on talents, the club seems to miss an opportunity, letting potential recruits slip through their fingers.

The main one among these is Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, a player that many believe could offer the goals that United needs so much.

While United is interested in bringing Vlahovic to Old Trafford next year, when his contract ends and he becomes a free agent, they have made no significant progress to get closer to an agreement, according to Teamtalk.

Man United falls behind his rivals in the Vlahovic breed

Vlahovic, the International Serbia, endured a somewhat mixed fate to Juventus. Since he joined Fiorentina in January 2022, he scored 62 goals in 150 appearances.

He had spells on the sidelines, but also showed that when Match Fitness and Form meet, he has the capacity to play.

Part of the reason for which progress has been slow is increasing competition. Clubs like Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle United would have an eye on Vlahovic and could be ready to make offers when the time has come.

Even West Ham United was mentioned, although given their squad situation and its current form, any decision remains less likely.

Should the Red Devils sign a new striker?

The Red Devils are undecided when chasing the Juventus striker. They have already invested a lot of money in new attack signatures.

The summer transfer window saw players like Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo arrive at the club.

Do they need a new striker while having Joshua Zirkzee on the bench? The advantage of the signature of Vlahovic would be that the player would be available as a free agent, but it would work against the new Sesko signature because it would affect his playing time at the club.

More than a new striker, the Red Devils need a midfielder in the team, someone who can ensure stability in the middle and offer support in the future.
