Manchester City is considered “firmly in the running” to sign the Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, despite strong competition from Bayern Munich and the interest of Real Madrid.
Wirtz has been on the city’s transfer radar for years, because he broke into the first Leverkusen team at 17 to replace Kai Havertz during his move in 2020 in Chelsea.
